Bore to Chore to Cheers!

Thursday night was rife with festivities. The evening began in Soho at B&B Italia for the launch of Esquire The Big Black Book- The Style Manual for Successful Men.

The showroom was shoulder to shoulder with well-primped people and I rather enjoyed sipping bubbly and discussing the cuts and fabrics of the suits that surrounded me and my cohorts de la nuit, Stephanie Newhouse and Jen Marden.

A dashing Scott Lehmann of Esquire made the rounds, and Marty Staff of Joseph Abboud was an absolute delightful addition to the stoic crowd. However, that was the extent of our excitement, so exited gracefully and hopped in our awaiting car.

Our next stop was, A.E.R Walk With Style Event to Benefit CancerCare. Set to host- Miss USA Crystle Stewart, Alex & Simon of Bravo's Real Housewives Of NYC, and exclusive coverage by the fantavulous Micah Jesse. A silent auction, featuring goodies from Judith Ripka and Flip, and a fashion show by Shoshanna.

Intriguing Red Carpet appearences included; my girl Jen Marden, The R&B group- Tha Heights, Michael Boley and Terrence Pennington of our NY Giants, Celeb stylist- Lauren Rae Levy, Scott Herman of MTV's Real World Brooklyn, and DL Hughly.

I have to say, although oddly organized (those of you that attended, know what I am referring to) this was one of the funnest red carpets. This was partially caused by the celebs, but mainly instigated by the sassy Micah Jesse. I, for one, loved it and believe I was not alone. Just look at the great pictures captured by my boy, Jerritt Clark, click here to view.

I give kudos to the Tesla Group for a worthy cause- all proceeds from the silent auction and any additional donations went directly to CancerCare. I am fully aware that this was their 1st and biggest event they've thrown, yet... Every element was at their fingertips and while I applaud the efforts, their organization was a little like Black Friday shopping sale at Barney's. They looked cute, were friendly and accommodating in the onset, then it was as if they got a snag in a gown, and it unravelled- sequin by sequin.

From the events running an hour late to it taking 45 minutes to retrieve our coats- which FYI, was partially due to my host deciding it was cooler to stand on the sidelines of the fashion show then to do her job and the coat check girls locking themselves in the coat room upon discovering what a cluster f*%k all the guests belongings were in. In addition, my posse and I were now an hour and a half late to our next soiree.

Therefore, I will only make the following notations; Alex and Simon rock, Mike and Terrence are really Giant, Lauren is a stylist that is super cute with a fab- fresh fashion sense, Jen is with out a doubt, the most fun-loving chic in NYC, and Scott offered to fix Micah's broken belt- hmmm...

We finally made it to the Official Launch of The Luxury Spot, where I was happily greeted by the gorgeous CEO of IntenCity Global and theluxuryspot.com, Bryce Gruber and the ever so lovely Ashley Brady. I could finally breathe, knowing I was about to have a fantastic time at High Bar, surrounded by great peeps and righteous tunes.

The fete was commemorating the launch of the site that brings you tips, dirt and info on the latest happenings, beauty advice and where to get freebies, celeb romps, entertainment mishaps and misbehaves, and scandalous sex & relationship tales. Nothing could go wrong amongst this crowd, only definitely right.

Cheers!

This is an interesting! Kudos to The Tesla Group for one reason only??? Oddly organized. Guess you missed what really went down. Word is that The Tesla Group was actually only expecting no more than 150-200 max due to the event being their 1st. They actually went over 300 people and begin to fall short staff! I say Kudos to that alone, as that means they also raised more money for CancerCare. Charity, findraiser, CancerCare was the point of all this. Second the program actually only started 15-20 minutes behind schedule due to the overwhelming maxed capacity not keeping the runway and aisles clear for the program to start, and there was a huge line for the free bubbly you enjoyed.

Yes unfortunately the coat check was a disaster....but I did hear someone put their foot down, and they did eventually get it together.

Some trouble at a coat check does not define a good event. The turnout of the event indicates just how much of a success it was. I attended! An inaugural event with over three hundred attendees, and over forty-sponsors is a success. Perhaps when you're blogging about the next event you so callously attend, you should take a step back and think about the event's purpose and why you attended. Your shallow remarks clearly exemplify New York's need for more charity events like this which should raise awareness for a cause in need, rather than to emphasize publicity. I highly doubt that you'll be talking badly about AER when you're enjoying your free facial at Jurlique.

Well my dears, as I mentioned, I and all those that attended forgave the mishaps because it is such a wonderfull cause. I write what I wrote, not only because it was the truth, but because I CHALLENGE you to make the next event even more spectacular and run smoother. I must call a spade a spade, otherwise, you may not strive to fix all the kinks at your next event. As these types of events are uber important, I only wish that there are more fundraisers in any capacity and I encourage you to pursue your admirable endeavors.
Always be prepared and ready to improvise: things never run the way they should on paper, and I know how timetabled and organized you thought you were going to be. Perhaps that hindered you, because when things started to not to go according to plan, no one had any idea what to do.
And FYI- 1) I was the girl that put her foot down and got the coat check at least somewhat going, not to mention that some of my friends had missing belongs and had to return later to retrieve or forego their umbrellas and goody bags.
2) The bubbly you mentioned was at a previous event, not yours. When you have a huge line, someone, no matter what there job description should a) run to the store and get more booze and b) jump behind the bar and give a hand.
When all is said and done- I do hope you prove to go above and beyond at your next event and it is a grand success on all levels.

Good Job Babes...You nailed it from every aspect. As a writer like yourself your not just suppose to write about the fluff....You need to explain both the positives & negatives. I think your constructive critism was sought out perfectly & executed in a way that can only be beneficial for the Telsa Group, being that this was there first big event & I thought it was great, but like you said...there were some minor issues that I'm sure won't happen next time. Being a pro at going, planning & organizing events for many years; I know that one big disaster can lead to bigger problems in the future (I'm not talking about the Telsa Group) just generalizing. Especially during these hard times, the competition is fierce & your reputation is all you have got. SO inconclusion..... I would like to thank the Telsa Group for there hard work in not just putting on the event but with all the logistics that go hand in hand with that but most importantly the money you guys raised for Cancer Care. I had a wonderful evening Smiling Brit great Job!! XOXO

Jen
