Second Annual Hope Gala 2010
+
On Friday, January 22nd, Penn State Alumni led the Second Annual Hope Gala at the awe-inspiring and elegant Lower East Side venue, Capitale. Over the past 35 years, Penn State students have raised over $52 million to help find a cure for children's cancer. The Hope Gala was created to support fundraising efforts on behalf of The Penn State Dance Marathon (THON™) and The Four Diamonds Fund, which benefits cancer patients at the Penn State Children's Hospital.
Hosted by the charming and friendly LaVar Arrington- former Penn State football and NFL star, the New York City and Northern New Jersey Chapters of the Penn State Alumni Association, and the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group. Attendees seemed optimistic, focused, and centered on the goal of the evening. Hundreds gathered for a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a three-course dinner, speeches given by families and beneficiaries, and dancing.
