ELEW: Debut Album Release Celebrity Celebration
+
Tuesday, March 2nd, marked the invigorating celebration of Eric Lewis' debut album release: ELEW Rockjazz Vol. 1 at Le Poisson Rouge.
The piano iconoclast, a.k.a ELEW, took the stage and quickly channelled his inner lion to roar through his fingers- sans piano bench. Celeb guests, including Gerard Butler, Ben Foster, and Robert Kennedy III, sat front and center, absorbing the massive energy and passion that exudes through Lewis and his music.
Lewis manipulates pop-charters such as tunes by Coldplay, The Killers, and Michael Jackson, with a graceful force that captivates any listener. The magnitude of Lewis' creativity even extends to incorporating sounds from the piano's strings and baseboard. ELEW's debut is a landmark project that reconfigures the traditions of ragtime, rock and pop into a thunderous new style called Rockjazz.
ELEW has gained the adoration of mainstream political, artistic, and cultural leaders including; Brooke Shields, Donna Karan, Sting, Forest Whitaker and Eric Schmidt of Google... to name drop a few... and is now ready to blow your mind.
Check out ELEW's rendition of Mr. Brightside HERE
ELEW Rockjazz Vol. 1 is now available for digital purchase at itunes or www.cdbaby.com/elew

Susan Anton's 30th Birthday: A Decade Late
+
Thursday evening was a cause for so many festivities, I could barely keep my head from spinning off. However, being that SBS loves to celebrate bdays, attending Susan Anton's fabulous fete hosted by Anthony Haden-Guest, Jonathan Bee, Andres Serrano, Michael Musto, Ivy Supersonic, Aesha Waks, Liam McMullan and DJ Kelly Cole- was a must.
Susan being Susan, obviously there was more to the eve than just raising our glasses of champers to her, albeit not a soul I know would object to doing so for the lovely Veganess. Cricket Casey and Suan Anton hosted the Official Release of Party for Cricket Casey’s The Portal in the Park, a book and audio book for children, with songs by Grandmaster Melle Mel and featuring Lady Gaga at 230 Fifth.
Guests enjoyed vegan treats and mad beats, followed by a special performance of "The Message" and "White Lines" by Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame Inductee and Grammy Winner Grandmaster Melle Mel.
Conclusion: Rah-rah ah-ah-ah. Roma roma-ma. GaGa Ooh la-la. Want your year to be bliss. La-la-la. And full of love.

Off The Market: Being Married to a Pro Athlete
+
After the recent explosion of media coverage regarding high-profile athletes and infidelity, the trials and tribulations that appear to come with the territory of being married to a pro athlete is no secret to the greater population. Tia Robbins (wife of New York Giants defensive tackle Fred Robbins), Jasmine Silva (girlfriend of St. Louis Rams safety James Butler), and Jerika Johnstone (wife of former NFL Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings player Lance Johnstone) came together to create the company Off The Market.
Last night at Taj Lounge in lower Manhattan, Off the Market presented “Live, Laugh, Love,” an exclusive, couples only launch party hosted by Fred and Tia Robbins. Athletes and their significant others attended to support Off The Market’s dedication to strengthening the relationships between committed couples. The mission: to enrich the lives of couples by offering unique services, environments, and exclusive access to valuable resources for the ultimate benefit and honoring of the relationship between woman and man.
This one of a kind evening featured live belly dancers, a virtual casino and a jewelry auction sponsored by Judith Ripka. Other corporate sponsors who supported the launch and helped to make this an incredible evening included Tenga, Coastal Advisors, Modern Luxury Ventures, Vita Coco, Hennessy Black, and Taj Lounge.
The goal of Off The Market, according to Tia Robbins, is to “spread the positive message that married couples who live in the spotlight can continually find fun and exciting ways to reinforce their love towards one another.” After speaking to guests who were lucky enough to score an invitation to last night’s private event can attest, it looks like Off The Market accomplished exactly that.

Brittany Murphy: Last Red Carpet Photos- Across the Hall
+
The photos below were taken on December 2, 2009, at the Los Angeles Premiere of Across the Hall starring Brittany Murphy, Danny Pino and Mike Vogel. I've also included promo stills from the film.
As we all have heard, her untimely death has brought on a swirl of rumors stemming from her pulling out of the latest project, The Caller, (which she was reportedly replaced by Rachelle LeFevre). Hollywoodscoop.com just reported that Brittany Murphy's autopsy has reportedly concluded, yet the results have been deferred.
Toxicology and neurological reports will have to be conducted in order to learn the cause of death, and the results could take up to five or six weeks to come in.
According to Radaronline, the autopsy surgeons took a piece of Murphy’s brain in order to proceed with furthers tests.
As Hollyscoop previously reported, the cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest but the LAPD are now focusing on the possibility of a prescription drug overdose.
Across the Hall director, Alex Merkin, told People magazine that she was "incredibly hard-working and dedicated and obviously very talented. "This is all very shocking," he added. "I'm trying to wrap my head around it. ... Even when she had a lot of things going on in her life, she was always there."
The film, which was shot in just 17 days, is a true mark of just how hard Brittany Murphy and her co-stars worked and how truly talented.
In my interview with Merkin December 4th, he expressed:
We had an amazing time in rehearsals and those were some of my fondest memories on and leading up to set. I tried to encourage a full discussion of the material and what the characters are going through and the decisions they're making, and emphasized that as the driving force behind what those characters are doing, over what's written precisely on the page. That's a good percentage of the battle. The other is trying to build a trust with the actors where they know I'd never lie to them. That I was protecting their best interests when I watched them on the monitors. That if I didn't know an answer to a question, I would tell them I didn't know it. We'd find it together rather than fake it. That's really, in my opinion, all a director can do. But much of that chemistry is understanding the characters, where they're coming from, how they relate to one another, and then dropping them into the heat of the drama.
Fendi Launch Party for John Baldessari Catalogue Raisonne by Sharon Coplan Hurowitz: Eric Lewis, and Brooke Shields
+
Entering the Fendi store on 5th Avenue Wednesday evening, I was not prepared to squeeze my way through a shoulder to shoulder crowd... neither was the guest of honor. Poised on the staircase, Sharon Coplan Hurowitz addressed the guests gathered below to celebrate the highly anticipated launch of Prints and Multiples of John Baldessari: A Catalogue Raisonne 1971-2007.
The author briefly described her journey while creating the first definitive study of print work of Baldessari's prolific career that has spanned nearly forty years. After graciously thanking her supportive friends, family, and Hudson Hills Press, Coplan Hurowitz confessed, "I never anticipated a turn-out like this."
Humbled by the reception, Coplan Hurowitz was pleased to introduce a special live performance by the uber talented pianist, Eric Lewis.
Lewis blew the crowd away, including Brooke Shields- who was completely entranced.
The inspirational night was a celebration indeed. For more information about Catalogue Raisonne by Sharon Coplan Hurowitz and John Baldessari, please visit Hudson Hills Press.

Labor Day Weekend in the Hamptons, Obviously
+As Scene B Seen rounded out this fantastic East End summer, we decided to go out with a bang. I think we covered every facet that encompasses The Hamptons experience: BBQs to Midnight Swims, raunchy Day & Night dancing to Shelter Island's Sunset Beach and Andre Balazs' Hotel chillaxing, scenic drives past vineyards to marinas, a Ferrari Rally and we even managed to squeeze in an exclusive TV shoot.
Good friends, good wine, and good times.

First Annual Ferrari Hamptons Rally at Georgica
+
Recession scmession.
Held at Georgica Restaurant & Lounge in East Hampton, Nathaniel Christian and Nikki Beach Midtown hosted The First Ferrari Hamptons Rally.
Ferrari owners and VIP guests arrived in the am to showcase their passion and partake in a little brunch prior to cruising in a convoy of an 52 pristine Ferraris, $25 million dollars worth of exotic vehicles.
As a New York native, Mr. Christian was a fan of cabs up until a few years ago when he acquired his first Ferrari, and just like potato chips, you can't have just one. Henceforth, the idea of The First Annual Ferrari Hamptons Rally emerged in efforts to share his fondness with other Ferrari enthusiasts.
One such collector, Eric, opined, "Ferrari Long Island is really good a building a camaraderie, like a cult... it's more of a scene in the Hamptons..."
And Scenic. Drivers took in the sights , driving past breathtaking estates, vineyards, polo fields, marinas, and the ocean, along the 46.2 mile loop through East Hampton, Amagansett, Sag Harbor, Southampton, Water Mill, and back to Georgica. Page Six editor, Richard Johnson, led the inaugural drive through the Hamptons with Mr. Christian as his navigator. According to Mr. Christian, "Richard was an excellent driver!"!!
Apres le randonner, the aficionados joined an invitation only guest list of jet-setters, celebs, socialites, media, and business moguls in a cocktail fete.
"Like a smart man said, 'He who has the most toys when he dies, wins'... but as the really smart man says, 'He who lives with the most toys beforehe dies, wins.'"
