Prior to her 2009 debut EP, Self-Taught Learner, Lissy Trullie had been a muse for McGinley and De La Renta, posed for Elle, and been the face for Chloe Sevigny's clothing line. Now this muse-turned-model-turned singer looks to build off earlier promise with her first full length album.
Our first taste of Trullie's matured aesthetic came in the form of “Madeleine,” a slow burner that sounds like it traversed the woozy depths of the Velvet Underground. Her new single, “It's Only You, Isn't It” is a punchy number reminiscent of the glammed up New York of the 80s'. The two tracks are as diverse as Trullie's career itself, but are connected seamlessly by her soulful snarling vocals. Check them both out below and keep an eye out for the self-titled album, due April 10 from Downtown.
