Devorah Rose: The New Face of a Bikini Line
+
Devorah Rose has a lot on her plate these days, professionally speaking. Not only is the blond beauty the Editor of Social Life Magazine, she is filming for a new reality show on CW, and has been named the new face for a bikini line- diNeila.
Wednesday evening, we got a sneak peek of the of the swimsuit line, which was also being filmed for the show, at Roommate Grace Hotel. Models, bikinis, and cocktails... What could go wrong? How about a little cat fight?
After Ms. Rose set up a challenge for a slew of male models, which involved posing individually in white Hugo Boss bikini briefs, then serving us champagne, a certain social "crashed" the party.
An uninvited (as it was portrayed to be) Jules Kirby made an entrance and promptly attempted to tell off Devorah. Let me tell you, Devorah may be little, but her words can bite. After all, the woman is an editor. Obvi, the producers had a hand in this little scene and how it should play out. Jules was escorted out, then returned a half hour later, you know- reshoot. She tried again to spout something about being fake at Devorah, but didn't stick around this time to hear what Devorah had to say.
I would like to take this time to broach the subject of fakeness, since the foundation of the aforementioned argument was based on "being fake" as a social-personality. (I will not, however, address the physical fake aspect... there is not always a correlation between the two.)
There is a large difference between social grace and being fake. Being polite, pleasant, welcoming, and amiable, is charm school 101. I would much rather a gracious hostess then just a hostess.
Now, it is true, the cameras were rolling and the producer seemed quite content with the exchange between Devorah and Jules, I just think Jules should have rehearsed a bit more. If you are going to confront someone Blair Waldorf style, prepare your arsenal. That way, the producers are sure to get TV viewers and fill their pockets.
With all the chatter, I practically forgot about the bikini fashion show, but you can check them out for yourself...

New York City Opera’s Theater Debut Celebration
+
Dignitaries, scholars, family dynasty members, artists, editors (including the stunning Devorah Rose of Social Life Magazine), an heir apparent or two, and socialite ingenues such as Tinsley Mortimer and Stephanie Newhouse, gathered at Lincoln Center to celebrate New York City Opera's Theater Debut.
Opening night of the David H. Koch Theater, renamed in honor of Mr. David H. Koch’s $100 million lead gift to the joint capital campaign, unveiled the state-of-the-art renovations, and welcomed General Manager and Artistic Director George Steel for his inaugural season. This landmark evening honored David H. Koch, whose extraordinary generosity has provided a new home for New York City Opera and New York City Ballet.
After a spin on the red carpet, guests were escorted up to the grand promenade to sip some Dom and have a look at the much buzzed about installation by E.V. Day, best known for transforming clothing into sculpture material. The artist was given free reign to rummage through the theater's closets, which resulted in 13 works. A cast of Opera characters from Don Giovanni to Mimi, suspended from the promenade catwalks using dozens of pieces of fishing line attached to the cloth with fishing-tackle connectors (called swivel snaps).
Act II: Around 7pm, the familiar bells chimes, and guests filed into the auditorium for the opening concert, American Voices. This gala concert, marked the company’s return to the stage, the start of the 2009/2010 season, and the first under the direction of Mr. Steel. American Voices showcased performances from great American opera and musical theater performed by world-renowned New York City Opera stars including; Amy Burton, Joyce Castle, Anna Christy, Joyce DiDonato, Lauren Flanigan, Anthony Dean Griffey, Marc Kudisch, Samuel Ramey, Julius Rudel, and a special performance by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright and by the New York City Ballet.
FYI: New York City Ballet will hold its Opening Night Benefit in the David H. Koch Theater on November 24, 2009, when it will mark its first performance in the renovated theater with a world premiere ballet by Peter Martins to a score by John Adams.
Following American Voices, guests returned to the promenade, which had been gloriously transformed into elegant table seating, to dine, chat, and participate in the live auction. Auction Chairman, Luziah Ismail-Hennessey, paired luxury items and priceless experieces such as; An African Fishing Adventure, a trip to Jordan, a Greek Art Trip, and an Italian Grand Tour, to be auctioned off by Chairman of Sotheby's North and South America, Jamie Niven.
Encore: All proceeds from the Theater Debut Celebration support City Opera's mission to produce innovative productions of new and classic work, reach a wide audience with affordable ticket prices, and bring music into the lives of thousands of students each year through its acclaimed education programs in New York City public schools.

Harley-Davidson: 2010 Model Launch Party
+An eclectic crowd gathered at The Ainsworth October 8th, to get a look at the 2010 Harley-Davidson models, try on some fresh leather duds, and meet a few of the Motor Company staff.
The 6,000 square foot bar/restaurant with rustic wood walls avec chic chandelier lighting, has plenty of space to showcase several of the new models. The Screamin' Eagle Street Glide FLHXSE in spiced rum was poised on the Step & Repeat, a super hot accessory to those gracing the Orange Carpet.
My fave: A 2010 Sportster, Nightster, in brilliant silver denim and black denim.
In addition to plenty of bevs served by some gorgeous hosts, two tattoo tables were set up, the real deal by Dare Devil Tattoo and Fun City Tattoo, and airbrush tatts. Obviously, there was fun to be had at this launch party.
SEEN: Constantine Maroulis, Devorah Rose, Stephanie Newhouse, Kinga Drzeszlo, Lauren Rae Levy, Sky Nellor, Paul Johnson Caledron, and Celina Carvajal.
Be sure to check out the 2010 models or take a test spin with my boys at Liberty Harley-Davidson/BUELL in Rahway or at Highroads Harley-Davidson/BUELL in Highland Park.
Social Life Magazine 4th of July: Lifestyles of the Fun and Fabulous With Kellan Lutz
+
Fourth of July is not only my fave holiday, it also equates house hoppin' in the Hamptons. So where better to start my evening of sparkling adventures then at the Social Life Estate in Water Mill for the Social Life Magazine dual celebration of Independence Day and the July Issue launch, hosted by its' cover model, Kellan Lutz and Publisher, Justin Mitchell. Though co-cover model Lydia Hearst was slated to co-host the soiree, she was a no-show to the privé event. Not to fret my fabulous readers, the eve produced exclusive guests and some delicious threads bedecked on the next generation of the Hamptons' jet-setters, taste-makers, and socialites.
My girl Melissa and I were escorted though the magnificent great room and out to a crowd of beauties ensconced around the candle lit pool. As we descended the stairs, I spotted my lovely friends, Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen. Always delighted to see them, I stopped for a kiss- kiss and to congratulate Alex on the opening of Second Time Around Consignment on Mott Street. Alex informed me that she, Simon (feeling better), and the kids will be heading to Australia for a few weeks for some family fun and some much need relaxation, but would be back in time for my birthday fete. Alex was promptly swept away by Plum TV for an interview, so Melissa and I attempted to make our way to attain a bevy or two.
An impermeable swarm enclosing the bar, we opted to catch a breather in the back yard. Of course there were others who had our idea, and who other but one of the hosts of the soiree, Mr. Lutz- being photographed and assessed by an earnest young journalist about Twilight, 90210, and his Social Life Magazine editorial spread with
socialite, Ms. Hearst. Not wanting to intrude, I noticed Devorah Rose, Editor-in-Chief of Social Life, observing her guests on the stairs. She immediately called me over, introduced herself to me and told me the charming young man next to her was going to be the next it actor... or so people keep stating (meeting Parker and commingling with him late-night, I believe they all may be on to something).
Ms. Rose, in a champagne color just above ankle silk dress, is more gracious and gorgeous than I ever could have expected. With a genuine smile and openness, we chatted a bit and she thanked me for attending. There is definitely something to be said for expectations and being pleasantly surprised. Ms. Rose singled out one of her ladies, leapt up to embrace her friend, and Melissa and I excused ourselves to continue our rounds.
We immediately passed Annalynne McCord of Nip/Tuck and 90210, in a cute denim romper, sipping H2O while conversing with a friend and there to support her 90210 co-star- Kellan Lutz, and fashion designer Allison Parris. Pausing to take in our surroundings and make a game plan to secure some vino rojo, we located Kelly Killoren Bensimon, NASCAR Development Driver Tim George Jr., and gossip blogger Micah Jesse.
After enjoying a private fireworks show, catching up with my good friend Arthur Mandel of Nolcha, and one last peek around the magnificent 10,000 square-feet abode- we decided it was time to meet up with our peeps and get ready to hit the dance floor at Axe Lounge.
July has proved to be off to a great start with the glam help of Social Life. And while I will not divulge how the evening progressed, I will mention that it included Leonardo DiCaprio, the Social Life crew, Kellan Lutz, a Real NYC Housewife's daughter, and 'you heard it from Ms. Rose first'- Parker.
